This term our topic is World’s Kitchen which will involve the children researching where different countries are, their national cuisine, where our food comes from and how food is grown in various countries.
The book of the term is called Let’s Eat and focuses on children around the world and the differences in their diets and our own. In Art, the children will be using fruit and vegetables to create faces in the style of Giuseppe Arcimboldo and researching, tasting and creating our own recipes which will be cooked by the children and shared amongst KS2.
We have also been given a fantastic new Maths scheme called Busy Ant maths which the children looked at before they finished for summer. The scheme is excellent and well structured, and the children reacted positively the worksheets and content. Finally, in RE, our focus will be the types of pilgrimages people participate in and why people commit to these events.
You can find out about the learning we have planned for the weeks ahead in our Class Newsletter.
