Swineshead staff celebrating the school’s 30th anniversary
Welcome to the Swineshead St. Marys' Church of England Primary School
We are part of the Emmaus Federation - a group of high performing and welcoming Church of England primary schools based in rural South Lincolnshire.
We seek to not only provide an environment which promotes achievement in learning but also one of warmth, security and care, valuing each member of the school community and working to encourage the realisation of each individual’s potential. We celebrate all achievement whether big or small and challenge our children (and ourselves) to improve even more. We encourage a ‘can do’ culture, a thirst for life-long learning and a pride in each other's skills and attributes.
As a Green Flag Eco School, ArtsMark School and Food for Life Silver Standard School we believe that we provide the very best in high quality, relevant, inspiring learning for the children in our care. We challenge them to achieve the best that they can be in all that they do.
Mrs C V Collett Executive Head of Federation
The school will open on Monday 23rd March 2020 for children that fall into specific categories. These categories include:
Children where parents are key workers
Children who have an EHCP (Educational Health and Care Plan)
Children who are in care (LAC children)
Children who have a social worker
We are following government guidance of a maximum of 20% occupancy and to ensure we continue to ensure safety of all pupils and are able to continue to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus, we will only be able to facilitate childcare for a specific number of children. Unfortunately, depending on the amount of responses, we may not be able to offer all eligible children with childcare and we may have to prioritise based on two parents who are key workers and single parent key workers and those with an EHCP or a social worker as a starting point.
I WOULD LIKE TO STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE THAT STATES: “If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend and cannot arrange childcare.”
