Our main topic this term is The Victorians and Revolutions. The children will learn about life as a rich and poor person during the 19th Century in terms of education, home life and work. They will also explore the industrial revolution and how technology advanced so much, especially in terms of transport. We are hoping to organise the summer trip to a Victorian school or workhouse museum where the children can be transported back in time and gain a true experience about life in the past.
Our science topic this term is Evolution and Inheritance. The children will learn about how plants and animals have evolved or adapted over time and why they needed to in order to survive. They will look at the role that Charles Darwin played during the Victorian period and his theories of evolution.
You can more about the learning we have planned in the weeks ahead in our Newsletter.
Technology is used extensively throughout the school. It is important for children to be aware of the dangers posed by the Internet and mobile technologies. Wenhave collected some websites that have information to help children stay safe.
